Amy Brandt

PAA is proud to welcome Amy Brandt, one of the most exquisite ballerinas in the world of classical and contemporary ballet today!

Amy Brandt was born in Libertyville, Illinois, where she received her initial dance training at Dancenter North, the Ruth Page Foundation and the Milwaukee Ballet School. She later joined the Milwaukee Ballet, where she danced featured roles in Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Four Temperaments, and Alonzo King's MAP, among others.  In 2003 she joined the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, with whom she’s toured extensively at festivals such as Jacob’s Pillow, New York City’s Fall For Dance and the Edinburgh International Festival.

Her repertoire includes Balanchine’s Episodes, Scotch Symphony, Pithoprakta, Don Quixote, Divertimento No. 15 and Mozartiana. In 2005, she performed in honor of Ms. Farrell at the nationally televised Kennedy Center Honors.

Ms. Brandt freelances with several companies in New York City, including Ballet NY, Chamber Dance Project, Dances Patrelle and New Chamber Ballet, and is a founding member of Ad Hoc Ballet. She writes the “Ask Amy” advice column for Pointe magazine, as well as articles for Dance, Dance Spirit and Dance Teacher.
