The "2011 Academy Awards" Recital will be held on Sunday, May 15th with Mandatory Dress Rehearsal on Saturday, May 14th at Penns Valley High School Auditorium. The time for the May 15th matinee will be 3:00 pm. This year, we are proud to present an all-dance rendition of the family favorite "Alice in Wonderland", featuring all of our PAA dance students.

All dancers are invited to perform in our annual recital! Held each year in May, this exciting demonstration shows your student's progress. Participation is optional, but strongly encouraged. The number of dances an individual performs varies with the amount of instruction per week. All choreography will be rehearsed in their regular class times during the last 15 minutes or so each week. Each performance is followed by a beautiful awards ceremony, presenting each student with a certificate, while also recognizing our perfect attendance students, honor students and "Academy Award" winners.

A reasonable costume deposit per class is charged in January, when you turn in your Registration Form. After turning this in, you are committed to performing in the recital and you are responsible for proper attendance and costume fees. Unlike other studios, costume costs are kept to a minimum, and the standard dress code worn for class will be the base for each class's costume. 

T-SHIRTS
Show t-shirts are available and should be ordered by March 22nd to be received prior to the concert. Some extra shirts will be ordered, and a reorder of at least 12 or more shirts can be made after this date if there is enough interest.

TICKETS
Tickets go on sale to the public 3 to 4 weeks prior to the concert. All seating is first-come, first-served and doors open a half hour prior to the concert.

Please note, our recital has sold out in previous years. Please do not wait to buy your tickets at the door!

DVDs
Our professional videographer, Centre Video, will once again be offering DVDs of the recital this year. Please note that they will be taping at the dress rehearsal AND the performance. They will shoot close-ups during dress rehearsal as well as behind-the-scenes footage.

Please take this opportunity to leave your camcorder at home the day of the show. We want you to relax and enjoy the experience. Our hope is that you can enjoy your son or daughter's performance in person -- not just through an eyepiece or LCD screen.
